Everybody is preparing to enter class when Camille points out how well dressed Mr. Russard is. They ask if he has plans that day, and Mr. Russard informs them that the Super Attendant will be arriving. He wants everything to be perfect or else his job as a Teacher could be at risk. Before they go inside, Rudy comes by to mention that he finished cutting the grass as requested. He leaves and everyone steps into the room to note the odd odor in the room. It's very foul and they can't recognize it at all.
All of the students rush back outside for fresh air as Mr. Russard begins to panic. Alfred decides to look into things to help ease his worries, but Mr. Russard reminds him that they don't have much time. The trio leave for a bit and return with the necessities to look around for anything that could help them identify the stench. Milo comes by a kitty, which he picks up and places outside before he returns to the others to continue looking. Alfred comes by a small, gooey ball like object and deems this a clue.
Suddenly, the trio are surrounded by cats. They become startled and hurry to try to determine the source of the scent. They review their clues and Alfred determines the source of the smell. They rush back to school to come across Rudy, and Mr. Russard locates them to let them know that they don't have much time left. Alfred explains that he has an idea and they rush off for further investigation, promising to return shortly.
They find Rudy again -now fishing- and ask about the cleaning procedure. Rudy explains that he had a mask on to protect himself from the herbs -balleriam- because they stink. Rudy shows them where he put the smelly herbs, in the compost. This causes the trio to realize what happened; the scent leaked into the classroom, and that was why there was so many cats there earlier. They like the smell.
With that, the four work together to clear the herbs out of the compost and get them as far as way from the school as possible. They go on to assure Mr. Russard that the problem is fixed, and just in time, the Super Attendant shows up. They are a bit worried but the review goes very well, the Attendant believes them when they claim the scent is from Mr. Russard's hands-on teaching methods. This makes the Attendant happy and Mr. Russard calm down realizing his job is fine.
It's then Milo spots a piece of the herb they missed, and he picks it up to throw it aside before anyone sees it. It unknowingly lands on Cynthia, who was walking by at the time. She notices the odor and stops to ask her cousins about it, and they realize it's coming from her. She becomes very confused and startled when a cat suddenly jumps onto her. This causes the trio to laugh as they happen to spot this.
