Alfred and Co arrive as Ricardo has gathered everybody to witness the unveiling of a statue built by Helmut. Before they reveal it, Mr. Russard asks Helmut to give a speech about his work. Everyone loves the statue when they finally unveil it, but Ricardo appears to be perturbed. He barely recognizes who its meant to be, and he gets offended when they insist its him. He begins to bicker with Helmut over the poor job he did until Mr. Russard tries to step in and stop the argument. Both guys proceed to storm off, and Mr. Russard decides that they should have time to cool down.

The next day, Alfred, Camille and Milo discuss the terrible storm the previous evening while they make their way through the forest. They are surprised to hear Ricardo cry out in alarm and they join him to discover the statue's been knocked over- and its broken, the head is gone.

Mr. Russard tries to calm down Ricardo but it doesn't work, and he leaves threatening to leave Gnarly Woods for being so ignorant. Suddenly, Milo hears some sound coming from the nearby bush, and he dives into it to yank out Cynthia. She denies being there for any reason, but admits to having come to search for the missing head of the statue. She also found some sculpting tools, which she has her cousins show to them.

With that, the trio take off and Alfred makes this their second clue before suggesting they visit Helmut. The distraught creator reveals that he was upset, and last night he went back to the statue to look at it again. Milo accuses him of knocking it over, but Helmut informs them that it was already knocked over when he arrived. Alfred remarks that it would take several people to knock it over, and Milo happens to realize he's standing on muddy ground. Some areas seem wet while some are dry.

Alfred deems it to be his third clue and they head back to Hedgequarters. He analyses the mud and determines that it isn't actually mud, but silt clay. He looks this up and the trio head back to the scene of the crime while he fills them in on his findings. He asks Rudy to get on the roof and spray water down where the statue was, having Milo pretend to be it in place of the broken piece. Water covers Milo and Mr. Russard points out that was the noise he heard. Once the water turns off, Alfred explains that the rain from the storm collected on the Still Clay, which caused the podium and statue to topple over. The head broke off when it made contact with the ground.

It's then Helmut reveals he was the head thief. He took it back home with him in order to try to fix it and make Ricardo feel better. He shows everyone the head and Ricardo is much happier with the results, and knowing nobody purposely tried to spite him, he agrees to remain in Gnarly Woods. It is his home after all.
