The episode begins as Alfred, Milo and Camille race to Alfred's place when Victor comes by to ask where his father is. They answer and resume playing as Lily walks by to offer them some snow drop candy. They accept and invite her to play tag with them, and they are joined by Mr. Hedgehog and Victor. Mr. Hedgehog spots a leaf on Alfred and they invite him to play with them too, but he explains that he has to get some money. He goes on to tell Lily that she should close her candy box, to make sure they don't melt. She heads over to do that and they resume playing, until Mr. Hedgehog's alarm surprises them.

They join him to determine what happened as he calls someone, expressing the problem. Unfortunately they aren't able to give him more bees, it'll be a month before they get anymore in. Camille wonders if someone could have stolen his bees, and just then Mr. Hedgehog gets a call from Grizz, who mentions some bees showed up by his place.

Together they head over to his place to find it swarming with bees. They suddenly showed up, and while he was planning on getting some for his own hives, he didn't want to take them until he knew if they belonged to someone. Mr. Hedgehog is unsure if they are his, so he looks for the Queen Bee, who has a white spot on her. He identifies one but its missing that spot. Alfred asks Grizz how many bee suppliers he may have called before they are surprised to see Lily as they head back, revealing that his bees returned. Mr. Hedgehog explains that if a bee feels too crowded, they will leave to find a new nest. He re-collects his bees and realizes that the Queen is still missing. He finds this suspicious and very concerning, because the bees need a Queen and usually find one. Without her, they could possibly die.

The group head to Hedgequarters to examine the clues thus far. Alfred asks his dad some questions before suggesting they check the Hive and think over what happened earlier. Mr. Hedgehog recalls that while they were playing tag and Lily showed up, he was getting honey for Victor. It's then Milo theorizes that something drew the Queen Bee away. Alfred points out that something sweet may have attracted her attention, and this causes them to worry that the Queen could be stuck to Victor's sweater. But that makes no sense, because they would have heard buzzing.

Just then Lily returns, to ask if they want to play tag again. This causes them to recall the box of snow drop candy, and they ask her about them. They carefully place the box on a cloth and stand back, opening it with caution. The Queen Bee floats out of the box much to their relief, and Alfred's dad goes to return her to the hive.

After all of the bees has been accounted for, Lily begins to feel bad for accidentally getting the Queen stuck. Alfred assures her that she isn't to blame though, because she didn't know the Queen got loose and was in there, and if it wasn't for her all of the bees could have been gone by the time they got back. Alfred picks up Lily and they embrace as the others begin to laugh.
