Lilly, Alfred and Camille are heading to the lake to do some fishing. They wonder where Milo is when he suddenly shows up. He was busy working on the poster for the upcoming festival. Camille remarks on the sea monster design he came up with, asking him if they truly exist. He retorts that they don't have proof saying they don't, and he turns to bump into someone donning strange clothes. It turns out to be Mr. Russard, who was out diving. An activity that he particularly enjoys doing in his spare time.

Suddenly, Cynthia and her cousins are heard yelling in terror and the group run into the frightened birds. Everybody stares in shock seeing them covered in fluffy pink foam. Cynthia explains that they were in the middle of practicing their swimming for the festival when a bunch of foam began to appear. It ended up completely swelling over them and they were forced to make a hasty retreat because they bubbles wouldn't stop. The four girls complain with disgust and Cynthia demands an explanation. Mr. Thomas, who was there keeping an eye on them asks to know if it's a joke when Camille picks up a foul scent from the foam.

Mr. Thomas and Mr. Russard consider cancelling the swimming recital which upsets Cynthia. She tells Alfred to save Aquatic Day and find out the cause. Everyone takes off to get started with the investigation, but they make Cynthia stay to clean-up. Alfred, Camille and Milo head to Hedgequarters to study the foam. They review the paper that comes out from the nearby machine when Alfred reveals that based on the study, the foam's origin is plant based. It's not soap either.

They return to the lake to look for more clues to find Cynthia foisting all of the work onto her cousins. She lies when Mr. Thomas catches her, so he makes her resume helping out. Camille begins to search the water to discover an old boot. She asks if this is a clue, but besides that and some different plants for testing, they find nothing.

Suddenly, Milo falls into the water and panics, until Camille reminds him that the water isn't very high. Alfred observes that the foam only appeared around Milo just then, and this causes them to realize that it only appears when there is movement in the water. They go back to analyze the samples and Cynthia tries to leave with them to get out of cleaning; but to no avail.

Alfred tells Camille and Milo they need to determine which plant makes the water foam, and they begin to put each one in the water and mix it. Each sample provides nothing in return, and they dispose of them when Camille picks up the scent from the foam again. They notice it on the cloth they were using and pick up a leaf that matches. Now all that is left is to determine which tree it came from.

Alfred quickly deduces which tree has this specific leaf and they return to the lake, where he pulls out a clump of small pink fruit. He wants to conduct one last test to make sure his theory is correct, and they go to Mr. Russard to ask him to search the bottom of the lake for more of the fruit. A bit later, Mr. Russard returns to find a bunch of the small fruits within the water.

He heads back down to fetch the rest of them, and Alfred explains to everyone that this fruit foams up when its moved around quickly, gets wet or shaken. So as long as they keep them out of the water, it will be fine. Cynthia is relieved to know that they won't have to cancel their performance now, and as she expresses her joy she falls back into the water. Everyone starts to laugh, including her.
