"The Mysterious Red Spots" is episode 47 of the series. It first aired on March 31st, 2010.

Premise[]

Alfred and Lily awaken with red, itchy spots! They know its not chicken pox, so what exactly are they?

Summary[]

Mr. and Mrs. Hedgehog are startled as they walk in on a red-spotted Alfred and Lilly, both of whom are itching like crazy. Dr. Anna comes by to check them out, and she notices they lack a fever. She recalls how earlier she was visiting Camille, who also has the same symptoms. She finds it to be very strange for three people to get itchy rashes like this on the same day. After warning the hedgehog's to try not to scratch themselves she takes off.

Alfred decides to call Camille and discus the predicament with her. He asks her to come by since he and Lily also have them, he isn't worried about catching them from her. They head out to meet with Milo, who keeps distant from his three friends. He was told that as long as he didn't get near them and kept his hands clean, the germs or rash from them shouldn't spread to him. Alfred decides to put Milo in charge of the mystery since he isn't sick. With that, he recalls that he and Camille went rock-climbing. Milo was too scared so he and Lily went straight to the top of the mountain to take a picture.

While observing the photo's Milo took yesterday, they spot a strange, long-looking orange snake and Alfred tells him to upload the pictures onto the computer. They zoom in on the object and Camille remarks that it doesn't resemble a snake. Looking at another picture, they find something that looks like a bag, and Alfred decides this is their second clue. He hands over the Detectaberry for further investigation and tells Milo they're counting on him to crack this case.

Milo heads back to the location when he sees Cynthia and her cousins. She asks what he's up to and Milo tries to tell them what happened, causing her to mock him. He goes on to ask what they were doing and Cynthia mentions how they came to look for a good spot to set their things up. She ends up frustrating him, expressing disbelief that he can manage on his own, and this encourages him to prove her wrong. Milo goes to investigate the object in question, with some help from Mr. Thomas.

He returns to the Hedgehog's house and they examine the strange stuff he found. They go on to try to determine why Lily got sick, considering she wasn't rock-climbing with them. Milo goes over their clues, including the snake, cocoon and some hair. They look over the other picture again to realize that the strange, orange thing they found wasn't a snake; it was a caterpillar.

Alfred determines that if they take a bath their itchy rashes should clear up. Once the trio are able to clear their skin up and feel better, they reunite with Milo and rush back to the mountain to find Mr. Thomas, who is in the middle of hiking with some students. They tell them to be careful in order to make sure they avoid the itchy rashes, explaining how their red spots were from the caterpillars they saw, who were in the middle of moving location. During the Spring they're more active than usual, and the hairs are what caused them to get these rashes.

Suddenly, Cynthia runs over with her cousins and they're all itching. Milo tells them they just need to take a bath to feel better, but she doesn't believe him. This causes them to start laughing as they realize her stubbornness will just do more harm than good.
